Could it possibly be quartzite? Would be a better way to view by breaking open but it is questionable that it could be manmade, almost like some type of tool considering the shape of it .

Then ask in the section that deals with stone tools before deciding to break it open or not.

Will take your advice and see what they think ,man made or natural. Thanks for your time and all the others that follow and give there advice and knowledge to this forum on the topic of Rocks/Gems.

I'd call it a quartzite as it appears to be a quartz mineral but lacks any characteristics to put it in a silicate category, it does not have any tooling marks.
