What kind of mineral is this ?

Found in North East Connecticut and want to find out what kind of mineral this is.The size of it is 9x7" inches in width and very dence in weight with smooth surface.

Can't tell really, maybe a quartz rock from Canada deposited via a glacier onto Connecticut thousand of years ago ?
