Girl you won't believe the difficulty I had chasing this coin down.  It is rather a rare coin.  The big coin is an 1817 spanish 8 maraverdis coin from the reign of King Ferdinand the 7th of spain  1803-1833

maraverdis means small copper coin or minor copper coin (penny?)

your coin is missing some lettering... before Hisp. should be D.G. latin for Dei Gatias...so in latin it would read... by the grace of God, King of Spain, Ferdinand the 7th.  Also missing from your coin is the number eight which indicates it's value...8 maraverdis

Below I have posted a photo of an 1820 coin that is the same as yours

I can't make out the details or any wording on the small coin so I can't research that one, sorry.

OOOPS left out the picture
Here it is now

I'll throw out a guess on the second coin. I note on the bottom pic what appears to be three parallel lines and a loop to the left. I think this is an Ottoman Empire coin that shows the sign of a Sultan's 'tughra'. If so, to line the coin up properly, the three lines would be at the top. I can't enlarge the image to make out anything else. Here's Wiki's pic of a tughra: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tughra

thanks all for your help

the second coin is a copper kurush

many thanks
