Hello All,I dug this up at a CW-era site yesterday. Can see a good bit of detail. On one side there is a wreath and what look like cornucopias curved around. There are denticles around the edge, which made me think this might be a coin.On the other side appears to be a figure standing. The item reads low, in the nickel range, and it is about 16mm in diameter.Any ideas are appreciated!-Buck

YES! I bet you're right! My buddy dug a watch winder that same day, as well--and we find them quite frequently in the fields.

Thanks, friend!

You find them quite frequently???
Some people put a lot of time in IDing your finds you know!!
Try to be more considerate when you are posting please!!!!

Yes, they are fairly frequent finds at the early sites I hunt too as I've probably dug all or parts to at least 25 of them. And I certainly don't understand why you think Buck's post was inconsiderate???. You obviously took it the wrong way as he would never act in that manner.

i am nothing but grateful!

Ive spent lots of time identifying finds here--not so much recently. So I know how much work it is. Sorry I offended you!

Crossed cornucopia around a caduceus. Looks like someone was copying Roman coins...

The other side could be VESTA.
