What kind of coin is this?

My daughter has this coin and wants to know about it, its approx the size of a nickel. TYVM!

It was given to her by a close friend..they didn't know anything about it either, she collects odd coins so they gave it to her.

Possibly Roman or Celtic? Just a guess because I'm no expert. You have to be careful though because some people make forgeries or replicas of these coins. Heres an interesting video.

It's still an interesting coin whether or not it is real.

Only a rough guess, my foreign knowledge is tiny.

Now you posted a good picture of a real one, the one here seems a little worrying. Needs an expert eye to authenticate.

My guess:
Coin is from Thrace (area between Greece and Turkey). Image is of the god Hermes; with goat and serpent on reverse. Coin minted (if a coin) between 400-350 BC.

PBK: I think we're on the same coin, just different images. And one may be a tetradrachma, the other just a drachma.
