What kind of button is it?

cant scan it in so no picture sorry. to describe it. it looks like two bears holding a circle. inside of circle it says UNITED WE STAND DEVIDED WE FALL. it looks like a sword goes through it from top of circle to bottom. it has some banners on bottom left one says Salus the bottom center looks like it says POPULISUPREMA. cant make out right one any ideas? found it in south central kansas old town site dated 1888 to 1930,

It sounds like a Misssouri State Seal button. What are the back markings? Could be a great find if its like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/MISSOURI-STATE-...613708262QQcategoryZ36034QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

thanks for the info that is the button the back is pretty much gone so dont know what it might have said but frount looks just like it that one is in better shape then mine but glad to find out what it was.
