Just posted this in 'Todays Finds' (as I found it today 8th January 2009).
I know its a buckle of some kind - I have seen similar pictures on the net but nothing exactly like this.
I found it in Derbyshire, UK in an area with known Roman activity (maybe I'm hoping too much for it to be Roman).
Measures 5cm x 4cm x .5cm with one flat edge measuring 1.5cm in its widest part.
Probably Copper or Copper Alloy.
Any information on the object (This is my first proper find) would be most appreciated.
