Hi gang

Found this buckle today on a property that dates back to the mid 1800s. It's not very large, about 1 3/4 inches long and made of what looks to be solid brass. Wondering what it belongs to. Any help appreciated.

Thanks,
Nat

Hi Nat; Nice find. Just so you know we now have a Buckles Forum started just yesterday. It is located in the Metal Detecting Forum and it is a sub forum located there as well. I wish I could ID it for you. Buttons are my thing. I'm sure it will look great in that display your putting together forv the City. DO NOT CLEAN IT AT ALL ok. PEACE:RONB

Hi Natman, I have found one like this before. Tnetters ID'ed it for me as a "Conway" buckle, and as Skaba said, it is part of horse tack. Cheers! Sub 8-)
