From the size I think this maybe part of a Ladies sash buckle,Is made to light for tack and maybe too small for a Mans buckle.

It is a militia plate, or similar item--probably post-Civil War... But likely is military or fraternal organization-related. :) And there would've been a company letter, regiment number, or insignia attached to the front of the plate. This piece is missing--so no telling what it was, exactly unless you happen to find the missing piece (it will be thin). I don't recall seeing any before with the raised oval in the center, nor ones with holes that large. (Might be possible with a lot of searching to ID the plate just based on those attributes.)

thanks.i been over this site alot and no luck finding whatever was on the face :O(
