Found this a few months ago , can't seem to find out what kind of badge it is, it's the size of a penny

Unknown on the agency, fraternity, or initials, but the missing "T" pin and catch would date it to the late 1800's-early 1900's. Cool find, Sub.

In what state or area did you find it? That might help to determine which club had this badge. Interesting find, Breezie

This is the only LOGO I could find that is similar to what is on your badge.

Chantilly Youth Association

On the below linked page, number 24 on the list it mentions a "Building Director" and that the Building Director must have a badge, maybe that is the badge that you have found, I couldn't find an image of the Building Director badge to confirm that, this organization is in Virginia, I couldn't anything with a LOGO as is on your badge any closer to NYC.

Official Web Site of the Chantilly Youth Association [CYA]

Chances are slim that this is where your badge came from, but it's all I could find that came close to the logo on the badge, even doing a search of various combinations of the letters C, Y, & A.
