I am there to find things. I love to go where people have gone before. I want to look at a place on a map, drive to it, walk around it, spy a place that looks good and get a quick hit. It is a confirmation of sorts.

Illegal now, but used to go and some still do; the Mansfield Cut area of Padre Island. Money Hill is south, old U.S. Mexican War army camp is just north, it's near the site where 3 spanish ships sank in 1554 or so. North of the cut is National Seashore for 100+ miles, Money Hill is at the northern end of south padre. Also north of national seashore when I was too young to carry half filled bucket of coins and buried the bucket, marked it, hiked to the truck and we never found it again. But I'm too old to search and I already gave the info to a nice young lady from Dallas or Fort Worth, something like that, so she can search.

Civil war camps... Colonial houses.... Wish i knew a spot to find gold then of course that would be my number 1 spot!!

I like Totlots for a quick gratification, but my favorite is old parks, and camping areas along with foundations. You never know what your gonna pull out of the ground at old foundations. Oh and pretty much any place I can squeeze in a minute to swing the coil. . . . hehe
