hard to say, it's been a pretty good year, but I found my first Virginia button this year, so until I find something better, this is probably my best recent findvabtncln.jpg

V nickel! I would post a pic but it is sooo worn, you can barely see the date.

People!
I was detecting the beach and 6 yr. old boy with a start up detector came up next to me we detected for a while, I checked what he was finding with my detector. We went our separate ways and later when he and his family were leaving he came and showed me his clad change, and ask if I came here often, a lady who over heard burst into laughter! I told him My husband & I were here often, and told him he found more than I did, and if he was finding nickels he could find jewelry... His mother's eyes got real big and she smiled. I thinking, " oh great, what did Ijust do!

My favorite find, probably not the most valuable, was a tunic button from a uniform of the army of Emperor Maximilian of Mexico. I looked all over for a pic, but I don't have one, and the button is at my daughter's house in Yuma.

These are still my best two finds and they came out of the same yard! -MM-

I think my best fines would be my first penny I found with my Ace 250, a 1989 penny in my front yard.:icon_thumleft:

This railroad baggage tag is one of my favorites.image.jpg

Define "best".

Rarest?

Most valuable?

Most sought after?

Seriously, Gold and silver are monetary bonuses but finding a lost wedding band for a crying wife who's irate husband is breathing fire and has murder in his eyes? Or even, just like today in the park, gifting the curious children with a bit of clad or junk treasure?
Or the birthday party for my friends 5 year old when we buried matchbox cars and Gerber jars full of quarters and let swing a coil ? Define best for me.

Most exciting, rarest, most valuable, most memorable, best . . . they're all the same for me, and I found it just a couple of weeks ago on top of a Confederate line. Alabama Volunteer Corps. "A V C"

The first year detecting got me these.

GOD Bless
