What is this item?

It is made of iron and measures approximately 7" x 3.5".

It was found on an old farm site.

Any help identifying this item would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

First thing that comes to my mind is that the curves look about the diameter of an old milk can. But I sure have no idea why, or how it might function. I'm sure that's not even close to it's real purpose.

Hi Eagle88
Welcome to the "Show"!
It looks very familar to a Vintage iron Log Sawbuck.
I have a modern item which I use to place logs on to keep them out of the dirt while cutting fire wood logs?

You apparently missed the size of his object, way too small for a log, unless it's "Lincoln Logs" we played with as kids.

From the handle style it fits in with a kitchen gadget of some sorts.
Looks like it moves also(articulates)
I was looking at glass sealer devices, but struck out.
Never seen anything like it posted up before.

Looks like an old iron boot scraper, used to clean mud off boots before heading inside, and found on farms a lot back in the day. Could also be part of horse tack, it could be part of a stirrup or harness fitting, though it’s quite rusted and deformed, so hard to tell exactly. But boot scraper seems more likely!
