It is the frame from a heavy, ocean-going shaving mirror. The mirror, backer plate and ā€œ3rd legā€ (rear positionable leg) are missing. They were heavy, because they ride better (fell over less) in a rough ocean. Very nice find. Quite unusual to most land lubbers and scallywags. Please donā€™t include Oak Island in the story of the find. Itā€™s like saying my aunt gave birth on D-Day. It really isnā€™t relevant. Oak Island is an amusement park for a few guys and a TV audience IMO. Thanks for posting. And Iā€™m kidding, to an extent.

Thank you for the ID and Oak Island advice. Any guesses as to how old it might be?

I believe it is a weight for duck decoys. I have found some very similar.
