case closed. if its magnetic ? its a melted ferrous metal. if its not magnetic ? its non ferrous melted metal. better luck hunting Tam.

Looks like melted aluminum can to me.

There is a piece of glass/quartz/???. What does this look like?

Probably a bottle was thrown in the bonfire along with the aluminum can.

Either lead or aluminum, most likely guesses. We find them here sometimes, generally not that big though.

If it's lead, it should bend easily.

There was a huge woodshop where my dads shop is now, it burned down and due to the extreme temperature from the solvents, paints, and varnishes burning everything but the cast iron melted. I still find huge chunks of aluminum/alloys that look just like the one you have here. They often have inclusions of other metals and chunks of glass. I've also found similar chunks around a house that burned down which had aluminum siding. Pretty much ruins those sights for future detecting.

also if u scratch it with a screwdriver or something else you could tell if its brass or maybe copper ? brass will be more yellow and copper will be more orange. then u can start a scrap bucket. rather than discard it back on the ground where u dug it. over time it adds up. metal detectors love junk metal. better luck tu ya
