Found in a old cemetery. 1700 to 1800’s.

Since it is from a cemetery, it may be an old flower holder.

Well DueProcess,
Hopefully this was an eyeball find. Even though...
A find "IN" a cemetery is considered a NO-NO.
No detecting on sacred ground.
If an eyeball find is made, It would be best to put finds next to the nearest head stone and leave them there.

With all of that said I think your find is a attachment to hold a flag.
Screw it over the staff of the flag to hold it in place.

Not in the cemetery. There is a preserve connected to the cemetery and you have to cut threw to get there. But the “fixture” in question was near the grounds. I was pretty sure it came from the place.
