Nail Header(?????) or something else?

Wondering what this is and if it has anything to do with nails? I found it out in the middle of one of our fields underground with a metal detector.

Thank you all

Probably totally off base here, but the way the rod goes over the middle circle reminds of a musical instrument key/button.

I actually think you are spot on. Reminds me a whole lot of a piece from my daughters clarinet. but I am not positive

Part of a safety release valve from a steam engine?

Maybe a really old Rocker Arm off the Valves of an old Engine? Tractor maybe?

Hope this helps and thanks so much

I can't help but suggest that it might be a synchronizing arm from the steam chest to the two drivers on an old model railroad engine.

Possibly a control arm for (?) that pivots about the center circle. The large end has an indentation to keep whatever was inserted there in place.

I agree with the rocker arm guess I thought that before I even read that guess...A little google should help with that
