Uhhh....an 11" diameter solid lead ball would weigh roughly 285 pounds, so you might want to double check your specs.

Actually they said circumference rather than diameter (so 3.5” diameter). What would that weigh?
A lead cannonball though?

Not saying it is....There are " cannon ball " ( lead) weights for downriggers used in fishing.
A tie point is needed so they usually have a wire loop sticking out.

Good calculation Icewing, however she did say 11" circumference, 3.5" diameter, which would be about 9.2lbs if it's solid lead at 0.409lbs/cubic inch.
If the 5.7lbs is correct, then we're looking at a 3" diameter, or 9.36" circumference.

Also, I'm not near knowledgeable enough on cannonballs, but I thought I saw here on TNet they are usually all made of iron?
