Might be a bi-metallic contact from a thermostat - breaks the circuit as different metals expand differently.




Views from three different angles would be more helpful that two from one angle. Top, bottom, side.

maxpower is correct. Early 20th C. automobile vibrator coil points (Ford Model T era).
