Never been to Viet Nam, but knew what it was, on account of I've been to Japan, same deal, but not over water. Collected in a honey bucket, and was picked up in the mornings. Once picked up it then becomes night soil and is used as fertilizer. At least that's the way it was half a century ago. Japan's a pretty modern country now, and no doubt handles the sewage a little differently. Question Mike, is there still a Douglas MacArthur Blvd. in Manila? The General was sure a hero with the people when I was there 10 years after the war. I played dumb and asked a cab driver why the name. I got a very passionate answer, "He said he'd come back and he did."
