? They came in All Sizes. I'v seen smaller

Just Pull it Apart.

There May even be a Brand name inscribed on the Top or Bottom

Remember those old anise nasty tasting things....small black like pills that tasted terrible...I think they were for your breath or something....could it be a container for those???

Maybe this will give you a beter idea of the size.

I think it's too small for lipstick or pills but I could be wrong again :)

Gypsy, you're talking about Sen-Sen! They preceeded breath mints. My grandfather use to buy it to do away with cigar breath . Grandma insisted! Monty

Thank you Monty....My grandma used to carry them and give them to us kids when we whined for candy LOL....cured our habit of candy begging very quickly! Nasty!

;DHey !!!I dont know about that long thing;but that button below it,in the middle-with the eagle-WHAT IS THAT,BECAUSE I HAVE THE TWIN TO IT IN MY CASE!!!The backmark on mine is Scovill MFG.Watrebury....it has no corrosion,a nice patina brown;anybody out there able to id it,and place a value???I dug it up in Michigan,at a beach;believe it or not-PLEASE let me know;I cant find ANYTHING on it....

Night Wind, its a US Army button with "The Great Seal of the United States". The military adopted this design in 1902 and its still used today, except they're not brass and seldom marked. Its fun to find the old ones, but they're still only worth a few bucks. Still a good find!
