what is this? watch fob, RR relic?? cant find anything like it

hi all, I posted this in the finds of the day but it was recommended I put it here. I found this last Saturday metal detecting an old farmstead, its a neat find but it would be cool to know what it is

Sure looks like a watch fob. And a pretty old one to boot. Go to Google images.. Type in Eagle and shield watch fob. I found this one that's similar but not an exact match. I would be back at that same spot looking hard for the watch if it was me.
