A cut off end from a piece of flared 3/8 O.D. copper tubeing. How many times does it have to be said?

BTW, single flare. Now throw it in with your scrap copper ( It's about $2.00/lb. now ) and get on with your detecting. Bluezman

I may be wrong...it may be 1/4" O.D. ....depends on how big your hand is.

I'll go with the tubular rivet guess. We don't see these too much anymore,the fastening technology has changed. Back fifty years ago that sort of rivet was common. Joe

Its made of Copper and not threaded.

It is a cut piece of flared copper tubing. The 2nd picture shows the inside of the pipe to be not squared.....but looks like it was cut with a tubing cutter. Could be from a repair job on a older car,that had a carburetor or fuel pump.

Or old propane gas line.
