What is this thing ???

I found this in my yard in New Castle Delaware, I haven't got a clue on what this thing is?
Its made of Copper and not threaded.

if it has threads on the inside it might be the top to a lamp shade.

perhaps the end of a candlestick? i found one similar with the wax and wick still stuck in it. mine was a little larger though.

Looks like the end of a wire wheel spoke. The end on the rim side and the spoke screws into it.

Looks like a snap fitting for making O-rings in tarps. There's a tool it fits in which compresses it into that flat round ring you use to tie down tarps.
My guess anyhow...used modern version which looks identical.

Right, but it sort of looks like it might be a double flare, verse a single flare.
