A guy on another forum posted this picture and asked what it is. No one over there seems to have any idea, nor do I. He has not provided dimensions, only that he picked it up along a river bank.

Anyone here seen anything like this?

Welcome to Tnet...
It seems that happens a lot...
That...
Treasure Net is the place to come when the other forums fall short.

Asking if anyone here has seen anything like this? I'd say it reminded me of a indexable tungsten carbide cutter insert, but I know it's not that. I can only think it is possibly the strangest peace of natural rock ever offered to this site for review, but I reserve the right to remain clueless :dontknow:

I have a feeling we won't be provided any of those things.

That is what I thought of too. Are you also a machinist by trade?

I will post all the information that will be provided. I didn't find it, someone else did. We (the other members of the forum) are asking the finder to provide these things, but so far it has not been forthcoming.

depends on the size, but have seen stones like this used as deburring for polishing aircraft parts, etc. they was usually less than an inch per side

No not a machinist, but have been taken to the factory of the company I was a sales rep so they could explain to me why they can't just shut down a CNC for a small run of product of un-standard design just to accommodate a big account I wanted the company to work at getting the business with. I came to understand it wasn't feasible to just shut down a unit knocking out hundreds of things around the clock on items that sell on a regular market, for my dumb idea of a small run product I thought would blossom in to so much more if we just did the one little thing.

Reminds me of a fertility charm. Both the tiangle and the egg are symbols of female fertility.

OK, the guy says that it is 2-5/8" long and 2" wide at the bottom. Weight is obviously not much. It was found in W. VA.
