Found at a new permission. I was thinking the farm was late 1800's / early 1900's. Looking this afternoon, I found the farm was listed on the 1860 map for the area. Was thinking something to do with suspenders? Did a search but found no match. The strip in the center, could allow a strap to go through. Noting was mounted to the back.

Thanks...

Thanks. That makes total sense why souvenir would be stamped in. Yeah, the ribbon would go through the slot in the center.

I haven't found the exact match but I'm pretty sure I've seen a GAR rib like that.

Thanks guys. You gave me a great direction to go looking for anything that matches. I found an old fireman's ribbon that looks very close to the top piece I found. Was this the ribbon it was off; I don't think we'll ever know. But that's a cool find!

I found a couple of the same top on Worth Point that give dates for these between 1895-1902. Not sure how correct those dates are.

My guess is these were made by the Pennsylvania State Firmans Association for tournament participants and spectators. If these events were anything like the Four County Firemans events I used to attend, the Souvenir badges were sold to spectators to cover costs.

Maybe I'll get lucky and find the medal part.
