what is this round metal with numbers?

can anybody tell me what this is? I found them while metal detecting where a old 1800's
farm house was and they fought the civil war. they have ga then some numbers,the smaller one is rusted. does anybody have any ideal?

bird bands

Thanks! I looked up bird bands, and it looks alot like them,they only keep records for 20 years and
they started it 100 years ago,these look old,because they are not listed.
