My vote's on meteorite! One hint on identifying meteorites is that they're really dense. They seem really heavy for their size. Find it's weight per unit of volume and that's the specific gravity. That should give you some clue.

Where are my manners? I'd also like to welcome you to TNet Brenda.

In the thread I linked to above, that rock wasn't really ever identified, but most of the people who commented didn't think it was a meteorite. I hope this one gets more attention. I love it when someone here solves a mystery.

It looks to have some rust coming from it,so it might be something with iron in it, maybe an iron ore,another possibility is an iron meteorite but I don't know with any definite knowledge these are just my observations.
