What is this? Part of a Bottling Table?

I found this at an old bottling site in Hawaii. It looks to be part of an old bottling table (the foot press). Does any one have any idea?

Just a shot in the dark but it looks like the cast iron trivets used to either put something hot on or cook over. If an old bottling site, perhaps it was used to hold hot bottles on and move which is the reason for the longer handle than some trivets?
