IT is heavy a little bit. I found this metal detecting in the site of an 1920s us army air field. Practice training area for the base. It was part of a base too. Is this object related to the place where i found it? It dosent stick to the magnet. Is this lead? What type of metal is this object? What is that line in picture 7? Mold line cast line? Is this object broken? Can anyone tell me how old is this object? 20210217_224050.jpg20210217_224630.jpg20210217_224645.jpg20210217_224654.jpg20210217_224707.jpg20210217_224719.jpg20210217_224750.jpg20210217_225830.jpg

Looks to be a piece broken off of some kind of machine.
As to what machine, I doubt there is any way to tell.

It's likely pot metal, and you can see the casting mark
in this pic:

That concave area on the top is made for a finger to push
on, but it's far to robust to be a typewriter key.
