Oh yes possibly! It’s light weight and non magnetic.
Do you know how old it might be?

As TomPA already mentioned, most likely a Sash Buckle.
Based on it's design, it's a rather late transitional piece... I'm thinking c1915 - 20.

"Sash pins were worn most in the late Victorian and Edwardian time periods, from the 1890's through the teens.
These photo's show ladies wearing the buckle at their waist in the same position a sash pin would be worn."

Nice find, welcome to Tnet,
Dave

Yeah I was thinking more 20th century the property dates back to 1860s. But I found it right by an old “stone wall” driveway and the earliest I could find it on the map was 1907. So do you think this was on a womans dress? And thanks!

Yes. Woman's dress sash (fabric belt) buckle.

These are common finds at older house sites. Why? :dontknow:

My theory is that as clothing went out of fashion it was put in the "dress up box" for kids to play. Kids then lost them in the yard while playing. But it's just a theory...

I agree with that theory - I sure with they would have let junior play with grandpa's old C.S.A. belt back in the day!

Hmmm that’s a good theory. Wel anyway I think it’s a good find especially since I’m new to this and don’t really know what I’m doing lmao
