What is this elgin madallion?? Need help identifying year and history on it!

Hey guys! I found this metal detecting at a 1908 home. It was in the same area a bunch of teen wheats were found in. Please research and let me know what year it is and the history on it. Made of some kind of copper/brass material as far as im concerned.

This is a total guess but, could it be the plate off this type of bike? It is called the Elgin Bluebird.
