I wondered if you can help identify this. Not found with a detector, my friend bought it at a thrift store but has no idea what it is, and I could think of no better place than here to get some insight. It is lightweight and made of stainless steel. About six inches long. It has a chicken logo on it, so that might be a clue. It is not sharp enough to be a cutter unless it was for something fairly soft.

Thanks,

Something to do with pies or cakes.

Super WAG is that icing flowers are constructed on that with it squeezed shut and then slid off and transferred to the cake.

When I google "pie edge crimper" I find pictures of a roller tool. Doesn't really look like this from what I can tell.

I would hate to change that diaper.

I'm sorry. Without even looking at the video first, it looks like a crappy device. Would be good for a crank Christmas present. "Can you guess what it is"?

The chicken sitting on a chefs' hat is a logo for "The Pampered Chef"

The item is a cookie dough dropper as shown on this ebay page"

Pampered Chef Cookie Dough Dropper No Mess Handy Gadget Stainless Steel Nice | eBay

The item was available in the 1980's but is not in their current catalog.

Nowadays most people who do high volume cookie making at home use different sizes of ice cream scoops.

Nice Find!

(late to post, I timed out and had to log back in)

I gotta ask, what was it about this device that made your friend want to buy it?

as a kid My Mother used to use one to make cookies.
She would squeeze it & scoop up a hunk of cookie dough
hold it over the pan & release.

I have no idea if they have an actual name
