Re: -What is this Detector Found in Trash?

Huh... looks like it is missing the actual machine?? Maybe it was part of an old hip mount setup for a 5900/6000?? I actually have an old 6000D body somewhere around here if you want to get it going... PM me...

Please don't return it to the trash as I can use parts off of it to fix up an old White's that I have been wanting to revamp.

Let me know if I can have it or even buy it. Thanks!

Re: -What is this Detector Found in Trash?

The display and the cord look like it's from a White's Coinmaster, but the shaft seems a little earlier,
maybe the 4900 or as late as the 6000, from the 1980s.

I was GONNA say, if it's in the trash, it must be a _______ (but I figure I'll leave that blank).

If you were gonna say junker just because "it's in the trash", than you have to read this and maybe you will learn something Vinny. You must be a newbie to trash pickin makin a statement like that. :o ::) :D http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,37167.0/topicseen.html

I meant to return and look for missing parts. Well, i couldnt find the body but i found this plastic piece maybe will snap to one of my other mds.MVC-007E.JPG
I think i will keep it for now. The shaft and plastic are in good shape, may fit my underwater Whites Treasuremaster for surf or beach conversion. I dont know if meter or coil are working. I maybe can test. My brother has old 6000. It has good snap-on coil cover.

Ahhh I see now. If you do decide to get rid of it though please keep me in mind. I am mainly wanting the handle as I want to fix up my old White's Coinmaster 2900D.
