Is this old Cape Well or Capewell, Cleve'D O Wrench used for? Oil filter? This is some info " For its first 100 years, Capewell thrived on two basic but essential products: the horseshoe nail and the parachute release. "

could be oil filter wrench or jar opener. I don't think the etsy description is right. Not enough leverage to tighten a pipe that size and generally not made heavy enough.

Looks like an oil filter wrench to me.

You know what makes a great impromptu oil filter wrench?
... a flat blade screwdriver !

If you ever get one that is super-stuck to the engine because the mechanic over-tightened it, just jam a screwdriver clean through the filter for added leverage.

I've done that and had the filter rip apart and then it's a real bugger to get what's left off...
