Their is a company called Atlas that makes kids jeans - wonder if that could be a Atlas Jeans button Theakiki.

How @ a good back photo? might help ID'ing easier. I think it's to large for a jeans button though it might be an end cap for an atlas weight lifting bar.

OK I Think it's a Knock-out Cap that fits over the Key hole in an ATLAS Gas cap
(it twists to the side like other key hole covers)

Closest I can find.

Unknown age

I think that you nailed it! Not exact, but still... I think that's what it is.

As far as age???? I'm curious.
I see that Yale key is not very modern. Someone who knows their keys, could answer that.

Great job, Jeff! (I think!!:laughing7:)

I'll throw a guess of 70's , but it is a pure guess.
I believe the '70's was the time of the first gas shortage threats,
and although gas theft probably started with the invention of gas,
concentrated fear of gas theft probably started with the shortage.

Thanks. That makes sense.
.....but I decided that Google is so easy to use I'd ask myself for info!

It seems that Atlas made locking gas caps for several decades! I think this piece is from the 40's - 50's.
