Found this metal detecting in the site of an army air field base and practice traing area is it related to that what is this? Or probaly modern or civillian use. modern military? It was 8 inches deep. With a piece of brick.

Looks like part of a grommet snap found on military web gear. See an example of a complete one below. These styles snaps were used from WWI up to present on different equipment.
