✅ SOLVED What is the paddle hinge looking item?

Hi; I found a box in my father's Florida estate containing a hinge, some spikes and some weird looking item. All rusty iron composition. The item with the curved paddles has my curiosity. You can see there are stops on them so their range of motion is fairly limited. My father had an interest in St Augustine and early Spanish door fixtures when he was remodeling his house so I am not sure if these are from that period or just something he had collected at some point. WAGs accepted but SWAGs preferred.
