I have never found an arrowhead made from this material. What is it? We have rock outcroppings here that looks similar. It must have been very hard to work with

cool....some kind of concretion.

Hard to knap, like you said, but I bet when you're hungry, you can make do.

is that what they call pudding stone

That's a interesting material. Nice point

Interesting indeed! Looks like agate pebble conglomerate. Maple Canyon in Utah is known for it's cobblestone/pebblestone

The site where I found this is loaded with chert artifacts and there are actually chert pits very close to it. Maybe they just wanted a challenge?

Hmmm, maybe your right. Perhaps he had that entrepreneurial spirit in him and was venturing " outside of the box" so to speak. One of the most beautiful Discoidals I've ever seen was made of a lighter colored conglomerate with red, green, and black pebbles all through it, a real work of art.

I want to see that piece dry and with some real clear close ups....that is really something.

That is a rather odd material to choose for knapping. It sort of reminds me of a type of rock called porphyry. Sidevalve45

That is a fine example of what NA could do when they wanted to, the side view looks like he was good at what he was trying to do.
