maybe a # noting yours is #212 ?

I kind of thought that as well. But in my little bit of research, it seems like that 212
is somehow associated with some silver. :dontknow:

so what is the object? might help with figuring the 212 out

wups! Because we had a pretty good ID on the piece I didn't think to post the whole thing.

The consensus was that this used to be some sort of a brush due to the piece with the holes. It was inside the back of the piece.

I was just a bit confused about the "212" and when I tried to research the number seemed
to keep showing up but I just haven't figured what, (if anything), it means.

Thanks!

brush that is monogrammed, prob a production #

maybe co has a record
Simons Brothers Company: Collectors and Collections
I think it's the style or pattern number? Many silver company's put numbers like that on their products. Yes I agree it's the top of a brush and was part of a vanity set, which would maybe have a hand mirror, finger nail buffer and other items with all the same pattern on them. I believe the same number would maybe be on all the pieces of the set, so if you lost one it be easier to run down a replacement with the maker and that number.??

Did you weigh that piece? It's definitely worth it weight in silver.

Pattern number is what I was figuring as well. I'll have to do some more checking.

It weighed in at just over 25 grams.

Thanks for your help!
