Re: What is real name for those "" gold"" alloys ???

The Spanish use the word "tumbaga" for arbitrary mixtures of gold, silver and copper. Unfortunately, its English cognate is "tombac", but that means a brass alloy that resembles gold in appearance only. So I'm not sure what to call your fine specimens in English.

looks like copper slag that contains gold......soak in nitric acid to eliminate the copper content.....acid eats copper leaving the gold unharmed... :icon_pirat:

Hi guys,
I think the name of the alloy you are looking for is Electrum. A naturally occurring alloy of gold, silver and copper. The Greeks used it for their coins.
