Manual tranny. (#2 = H P) I have a 6 speed (manual) tranny with a 260 H P engine. In 2 yrs - Dragging = 15 wins -- 1 loss when I mis-shifted from 2nd to 5th. My previous vehicle - 5 speed, 210 H P.....in 8 yrs I was 111 wins -- 6 losses. I'm approaching 4 score years.

For my use there are several considerations to mull over. First it has to be safe(usually indicates a larger vehicle),also it has to be somewhat aerodynamic(better MPG),and it needs to have enough power to tow a boat or trailer in case I want to. All said, I think there isn't a perfect vehicle out there, but with gasoline rising more each day, I think I would have to compromise and look at a smaller suv or pickup with good MPG. Good Luck. rockhound

Goo so, Went to the drags once in my '59 XK150MC Jag. They put me in E production with 2 thunderbirds. The auto bird beat the stick bird, in those days the auto had about 10 ponies more stock. I ran the clock and then the auto. took home a trophy about 2' tall. Never went dragging again. I like to quit when I am ahead. I was an SCCA racer and rallied mainly. Frank

"value"...which is why I won't buy any new car anymore. Let someone else eat all that instant depreciation.

When it comes to Cars I still live in the 70's buying
20 year old cars. most were $150.00 and
I could fix those mysef

I'd have to agree with Jeff and bigscoop on this issue :headbang:

There is nothing you can't get listed in an older beauty.

P.S. If you're buying a car mainly for only 1 factor, you're living in a dreamworld :laughing9:
