What is it's USE/Candlestick holder???

Hello everybody...i got the other day&was wondering it's use.made of clay(mexico i beleive&newer) and...well if your reading&looking you'll see,the hole on the side i thought was like a blow hole,to release pressure so not to explode while in kiln, etc.but it doe's not go all the way through(in bottom pic of peice you may see a bump near top thats where hole is)so i'm not sure.a combanation candle stick-inscence burner? CD is for size comparison,it's about 7in.high(approx.9across at base)so ANY help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks all for looking!
