1st - I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard ShaneLayne31015! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

2nd - If no one can identify your find - you might consider posting your pictures on GEOLOGICAL > ROCKS/GEMS for additional exposure.

Shane, I'm not much of a rock person, but it's a gorgeous rock IMO.
Does your IPhone have a Macro setting for the camera? If so, try a
couple pics using it from about the same distance.

Did the best I could with what you showed, above..

Hey man thanks. I’m new to forums in general. Not just this site but I’m not sure I’ll have to check on that. If so I’ll upload some pics for you.

Just checked out the site. Awesome tips! Thanks again. I’m currently away from the house so as soon as I can I’ll hopefully upload some that your looking for.

That’s one of my assumptions. Having a hard time identifying it. May have to take it to a university if I caint figure it out. Will give a few days here to see if someone knows.

Get a diamond disk for your 4 1/2" grinder. At the lowest speed you can manage and with water flowing into the cut slice off a cross section! I think you're looking at Rose quartz!

Best wishes!

Shane, don't ever do anything tool wise that you're not comfortable with! Ask someone who has done this kind of thing or pay someone else to do it. I forget sometimes that those of my generation were taught to be fearless. Please be careful!

Best wishes!

Thanks guys! Quartz was one of my thoughts. Wasn’t solid. I’ve just recently started actually hunting. Always was fascinated by geology. Had a rock tumbler when I was younger. Lol and reanm8er, I don’t cut into anything that I think is remotely something valuable. Never know what ya might be holding.
