What is it?

I dug a couple things today not sure what they might be any help would be appreciated the first one is a iron bar 44" long 2" wide and has holes in both ends the next thing is 4 3/4" long by 1 3/4 with two screw holes in it it's iron wasn't sure if maybe a butt plate for a rifle?
