Hello all, if anyone can identify this it will be greatly appreciated. Found in a corn field where a late 1800s school house was located. Looks like possibly a screw hole on one end and possibly copper or brass? It's very hard not bendable but has a copper color on the edge. If anyone knows that would be great. Thanks. I believe it is a lock plate and being ornate I would venture a guess towards a roll top desk or secretary desk.
