Thought this was a nickle (same size) but blank and lighter, not magnetic.
 

Looks like someone might have tried cutting a fake coin to use in a vending machine. Looks like aluminum.

Just because I "think" it may be an alum slug foes not make it so...

IMO = in my opinion... it could be something else so do not discard as of yet.

would be a common size for an electrical box knockout plug.look for a rough attachment spot.

Yes, but NON-magnetic? Not saying they don't exist, but I've never seen an aluminum junction box before.
