Help someone !! Was found on beach thirty plus years ago rockport mass

To me it looks Native American or Eskimo in design, given the way the child is swaddled and carried. Might be hard to find an exact match as it may have been made on whim after the rock was found... And of course the lack of any makers mark.

that's interesting. will wait for one of our resident "experts" to say what it is. did you replace the wire on it?

Looks like a piece of interesting "wire Cage Jewelry" to me. I knew some folks back in the 70's that would salvage all sorts of worn and interesting shaped rocks and wood chunks and put them in a wire cages for jewelery.

The wire was put on by me to wear it was just a stone on the beach when found

Well then, that changes the whole scope of things .. what you more than likely have then is an interesting but nondescript rock that you made a piece of cage jewelry out of.

Off hand, it looks like a piece of quartzite, but can't really tell without a better picture or the stone in my hand.

You should put this one in the american Indian artifacts page to get an ID on it. Looks interesting to me. When you post it let them know you wrapped it in the wire.

I think it is a Frozen Charlotte that has been smoothed by tumbling in the surf.

Yes. They are usually made of china or bisque. I have not seen any made of stone. But they were popular for more than half a century so who knows... :dontknow:

It was the shape/style of yours that made me think "Frozen Charlotte".
