I would appreciate any help on identifying the big item on the bottom. I do not know what it is I found it in a field that has civil war relics throughout it. I know the item is brass but I just do not recognize it. thanks

Creskol, seems like I remember that post too. Depending on the thickness, it could be an andiron part; of course I've seen some ridiculous deer horn looking candelabras too! LOL Breezie
