DG, could we get a little bit larger pic? It looks like part of a door plate hinge thingie. (I know that didn't make sense, but the 2 pieces on the end look like what goes through a door hinge, but I can't see it very well. ) Breezie

Sorry Breezie ,it is either this size or it is to big to load ,found it near a 1829 graveyard and church

Nova is correct, it is used to replace the wider screw holes of the ceiling box to a more narrow screw pattern that adapts to the lighting fixture.
